Links
I use a variety of sources to follow Santa Clara soccer, and you can save yourself a lot of time by using my links. I'll try to keep these as organized as possible.

Tools

Babelfish , by AltaVista. This neat system will translate pages from Portuguese to English for you. Be warned, it's not perfect. Many times you'll see things like "Young Chicken beats the Wood!", but still it's just about the only way to try to get a feel for the game. Also, you can type in words, and it'll translate them too.

Virtual Azores  This place is the best. It's a archive  for all things Azorian. I remember only a year ago, there was just one Santa Clara site listed, now there are several.

Portuguese Soccer

Ojogo - This is THE portuguese soccer bible. A daily newspaper, it will give you all the scores, narrations, news, trades, the works. It is absolutely essential reading.

futebolPT is a neat site, full of links to major team sites, as well as negotiations between teams and other insider stuff.

Portuguese League Information is great! It's an English language version of what's going on throughout the nutter world of Portuguese Soccer. I've never met the fellow who runs this, but he updates very often!

Azores Information

My favorite. My dear friend, Pedro "Pierre" le Velly de Sousa Lima has about a zillion sights up relating to the Azores. I won't list all of them, but some I use a lot include:

The Azores Islands Web Page (Huge!)

Great Recipes

Pierre is a really nice guy, tell him hello  for me!

Manuel "Manny" Rosa has a page with lots of neat stuff too. He's got great pictures of the islands.

Now Pierre and Manny and some other guys I don't know, all together they are like some web-syndicate. I swear it's very hard to find anything about the Azores that they didn't help create.

Lusaweb has lots of information for people living abroad with roots in the Azores. An invaluable source.

Santa Clara Soccer

The Official Web page was un-updated for a very long time, but somebody has been adding new things lately.

Jose Pacheco has recently put up this Santa Clara page. I haven't looked at it very much, but it's only a few days old.

Virtual Azores recently put up an entire section on the Mighty Claras, and Pierre and his crew really went nuts. Video clips, and even live updates during the games! WOW!

Radio Renascenca has a neat MP3 format that you can tune into games with, if you have WinAmp . It's in Portuguese, but it's easy to figure out what's happening if you listen to the crowd (and remember who the home team is!)

Eastern Azorian , a newspaper, often has stories about Santa Clara. Now that we're in the big league, everybody has time to write about us!

There is even an e-group now! Come join fellow fans (don't forget to bring your babelfish),  and get the daily digest newsletter.

More Links as I get them! Know any? Send 'em!
